Bad selection. The track collection runs 70 minutes and not only includes music from all of their albums, but additionally three new tunes recorded expressly for this release. Given that the brothers' style didn't alter substantially over the course of Forever Young - The Proclaimers - Lets Hear It For The Dogs (CD year span covered here, the non-chronological presentation works to the advantage of the listener.

Of the new tunes, a cover of Frankie Miller 's obscure "The Doodle Song" hits the mark in a rearranged version; "Ghost of Love" sounds like a great, lost Everly Brothers ' ballad; and "Lady Luck" is a mid-tempo pop song that brings out their most soulful side. In particular, "The Light" and "What Makes You Cry" from the underheard Hit the Highway release are well worth Album) for those who enjoy the Proclaimers ' stomping folk-pop sound.

Their version of Roger Miller 's "King of the Road" is also a nifty and surprising addition. The sound is excellent, and the Forever Young - The Proclaimers - Lets Hear It For The Dogs (CD is well thought out, which results in a superb representation of the band, as well as a near faultless compilation. It makes the rest of their catalog necessary for completists only. AllMusic relies heavily on JavaScript. Please enable JavaScript in your browser to use the site fully.

Drinking Hanging Out In Love. Introspection Late Night Partying. Rainy Day Relaxation Road Trip. Romantic Evening Sex All Themes. Excellent, as always. I love all their albums. Great band, so glad they came out with new work!! For me personally this is the best Proclaimers album in years. I always enjoy their albums, but I liked nearly every track on this disc. Well worth the money spent to obtain this album.

See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. This is yet another brilliant album from Craig and Charlie - already loving it. It's a great listen - classic Proclaimers, and the whole band really has a fantastic 'bedded in' sound.

Every track is brilliant in my view, and the usual ascerbic lyrics are there throughout: most notably so in my favourite track so far "Then Again" which is so witty, sharp and cutting rightly so in a song referencing Jimmy Savile and all of those other television freaks from our childhood who are now either dead or in prison.

Well done boys - you've hit the nail on the head yet again with this brilliant album, with songs that are both relevant, current, and increasingly more reflective on lives lived.

I bought the first Proclaimers album when I was a teenager, and loved the whole sound, harmony, and attitude. I was laughed at by friends and family for liking something so "uncool" - I didn't care. I 'got' the Proclaimers, and have done with every album every since. In many ways, they are the soundtrack to my life.

Thanks for another great album - buy this, you won't be disappointed and you'll probably be enlightened. The first time I listened to this, I was a wee bit disappointed, the second time I thought it was okay, the third time I loved it. Dave Eringa, the band and of course The Proclaimers did a great job. There are no bad songs on this record, this is a strong album with some outstanding songs. The only thing I don't like about the album is its cover.

Top drawer stuff from one of the greatest music acts that Scotland has ever produced. From start to finish this album keeps a very high standard, both musically and with some immensely powerful lyrics. If you are a fan of anything Album) they have done before, then this is definitely worth a listen. I am a new recruit to the proclaimers having watched sunshine on leath. Having purchased their greatest hits album which is brilliant I went to see them in concert in Forever Young - The Proclaimers - Lets Hear It For The Dogs (CD along with my husband.

They did not disappoint. I then purchased their new album and again loved it. I cannot believe that it's taken me this long to discover the proclaimers.

I would recommend their music to everyone who appreciates proper musicians. Report abuse. Wonderfull feel good album, watched them live in Perth and came away feeling great! A few listens and you'll be well away. Do get the album and if they come within miles when on tour Singing along to their hits and new stuff is simply fantastic.
